From 1993 to 1996, Bruce and his wife Mary pedalled their bicycles for 34 months and 24,000 km from the Arctic Ocean to the southern tip of Argentina. Bruce is the only person to bicycle (1993-96) and motorcycle (2018-19) from Inuvik at the Arctic Ocean to Ushuaia, Argentina.
Bruce and his family have since raised over $1 million for the Children’s Miracle Network hospital system ($850,000 of that has gone to SickKids Hospital in Toronto) in honour of their first child, Alyssa Rae Johnson (who passed away at SickKids Hospital in 1998) through their Motorcycle for Miracles charity rides. One of the rides with daughter Holly was an epic adventure through 15 countries. And Bruce’s most recent fundraising ride was covered by Global TV in September 2022
Clients have expressed appreciation for Bruce’s integrity, his deep knowledge of real estate and the area, and his positive attitude. He has always stayed current with technology and has advanced training and accreditation as an ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) and CRS (Council of Residential Specialists) and a certified GREEN agent. The real estate market is always changing and, as a result, Bruce regularly attends training sessions and events to further his knowledge and to focus on current conditions affecting today’s buyers and sellers.
Bruce and Mary met in the Arctic in 1991, rode their mountain bikes from the Arctic to Argentina from 1993-1996 and have lived, worked and played in the Wasaga Beach/Collingwood area since their marriage in 1997. They enjoy a casual, fun-loving lifestyle and count their lucky stars to have been able to raise their children in an area gifted with natural beauty, close to family and blessed with great schools, programs and services. They are passionate supporters of SickKids Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network. Motorcycle for Miracles has enabled Bruce to enjoy time with each of his daughters on motorcycle fundraising adventures while raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Alyssa Rae Johnson fund at SickKids.
Mary Johnson is a CSP (Certified Staging Professional) and True Colour Expert® and works as Bruce’s client services coordinator. Mary helps people sell their homes faster and for more money by professionally staging them. There is more to staging than simply decluttering — it’s a process of editing and merchandising that helps homeowners detach emotionally and prepare for the move ahead. Using principles of colour theory, interior design and feng shui, Mary fine-tunes each listing to optimize how potential buyers view the home.
Mary’s university degree in Journalism and Mass Communication comes into play when she showcases each property to its greatest advantage with the home descriptions she writes and the unique property web pages she creates. When the professional photos and videos are edited, she ensures they are posted and widely shared via Facebook, Instagram and other advertising outlets.
